Frequently Asked Questions

Consulting & Assessments

No. A screening call cannot replace an on‑site assessment. The call helps clarify your machinery, scope, and objectives; however, a formal assessment requires on‑site inspection, documentation review, functional checks, and safety validation.

An on-site risk assessment includes:
  • Machinery inspection (visual + physical).
  • Documentation review (schematics, electrical diagrams, safety functions).
  • Hazard identification and risk evaluation (ISO 12100).
  • Required Performance Level determination (PLr).
  • Achieved Performance Level verification (PL).
  • Safety function validation (ISO 13849-2).
  • Gap analysis + recommended corrective actions.
  • Technical report package.

No. Corrective actions must be implemented by the client or a qualified integrator. Benchmark SCG provides technical guidance, documentation, and verification criteria to ensure compliance with ISO/OSHA/STPS requirements.

Yes. Benchmark SCG performs functional validation and calculates the required and achieved Performance Level (PL) based on ISO 13849. This includes reviewing safety functions, evaluating architecture, verifying documentation, and testing results.

No. Benchmark SCG is not a certification body. Benchmark SCG evaluates machinery, identifies compliance gaps, and documents alignment with international standards.

Training & Workshops

No. These trainings do not grant the CMSE® certification. These trainings provide foundational machinery safety knowledge. The official CMSE® certification can only be obtained through an accredited program (PILZ, Rockwell, etc.).
